Full Job Description

DGC is currently delivering the DBCT Berth 1 Upgrade Project in Mackay, QLD and is seeking applicants in the following positions to support increased works from Early April 2026 to Late May 2026.

Project Scope includes:

Marine Piling Works

Strengthening of the Berth 1 Structure to facilitate new Ship Loader 1A

Extension and stiffening of rail girders including new rail placement

Structural remediation of Berth 1 structure

Concrete Remediation of Berth 1 structure

Coating remediation of Berth 1 structure

Pile wrapping works

Preparing Ship loader 1 for removal from berth

Placement of new Ship loader 1A

Offsite fabrication and coating of over 300 Tonnes of structure

About Us:

De Goey Contractors (DGC) provides specialist services in fabrication, protective coating, process piping, manufacturing, and labour hire. Our experienced team supports a wide range of coal mining, terminal maintenance, and port maintenance projects with a strong focus on quality, safety, and performance.

De Goey Contractors Pty Ltd is seeking highly qualified individuals for an immediate start in the following fields:

Boilermakers (Onsite)

Minimum 3 years’ experience in heavy fabrication, structural welding, or shutdown maintenance

Ability to read drawings, work unsupervised, and deliver high-quality welds

Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking)

Working at Heights

White Card

Blaster Painters (Onsite)

Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial blasting and painting (site or workshop based)

Experience with protective coatings and surface prep (Zinc rich epoxy, high build epoxy and ultra-high build)

Trade Certificate Desirable - Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Surface Finishing)

Trade Assistant (Onsite)

FIFO and DIDO applications are encouraged for Boilermaker and Blaster Painter roles.

Trade Assistant roles are available to Mackay locals only.

About the Role:

FIFO Roster - 3 weeks on /1 week off

Local Roster – 5/2 Dayshift OR 5/2 Night shift

12-hour shifts

FIFO and DIDO roles include flights, camp accommodation, and bus transfers to and from site

We’re looking for candidates who have:

Willingness to undergo pre-employment medicals and checks

Valid driver’s licence
