About us:

Our mission at DJG Support is to support people with disabilities to live their lives with dignity, independence, and purpose by providing compassionate, person-centered care and fostering inclusive communities. Through our commitment to exceptional care and guidance within the NDIS framework, we aim to be the catalyst for positive change and growth. About the role:

We seek disability support workers to provide in-home daily living and community access support to people living with a disability. You will be rostered in community and/or supported accommodation settings. Our ideal candidate will have flexible availability and open to sleepover shifts.

Tasks may include:

Attending to varying levels of personal care;
Transport (with the use of your own vehicle);
Ensuring participants continue to build capacity and participate in meaningful recreational, social, and cultural activities;
Domestic assistance and mealtime management;
Building capacity to uphold caring responsibilities for a child;
Mental health support and behaviour management;
Maintain and monitor person-centered care plans;
Maintaining thorough records to meet individual goals as in line with their NDIS Plan;
Adhere to NDIS guidelines including reporting and incident management;
Build respectful and professional relationships with participants and their families.
Uphold choice and control and ensure the rights of participants are always maintained.
Uphold confidentiality and personal boundaries

Shifts range from 2 -10 hours per shift and you can be rostered up to 76 hours per fortnight (depending on availability and suitability). You will be rostered on permanent shifts each week with the opportunity to increase.

About you:

Successful candidates will have a person-centered approach and creative mindset, strong initiative and problem-solving skills, and the willingness to work both independently and within a collaborative team-based environment. Our ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills with industry experience.

Qualifications & Experience:

NDIS Worker Screening Check, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Worker Orientation Module;
Working with Children Check;
Current CPR and First Aid Certificate;
Current driver’s license and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle;
Relevant qualifications or experience relevant to disability support industry.
