About the role:
Victoria Police is seeking an experienced Senior IT Administrator to support the Cybercrime Division within Crime and Counter Terrorism Investigation Services.
This critical role provides leadership and technical oversight for the Division's IT environment, ensuring robust, secure and reliable infrastructure across metropolitan and regional locations. The position manages IT service delivery, supports operational policing capability, and provides strategic advice on emerging technology requirements.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, specialist IT teams and external vendors to maintain high-performing systems that support complex cybercrime investigations.

Your duties will include:
- Leading the administration and support of IT infrastructure across Cybercrime Division sites

Managing network systems, servers, storage and security environments to maintain operational availability

Providing technical leadership, supervision and guidance to IT staff

Monitoring, maintaining and improving system performance, reliability and security
-
Managing incident response and resolution for complex IT and network issues
-
Engaging with vendors and stakeholders to support service delivery and capability uplift
-
Providing strategic advice on ICT requirements and emerging technologies
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Strong experience managing complex IT infrastructure, networks and enterprise systems

Advanced knowledge of network technologies, server environments and cyber security practices
-
Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes
-
Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and advise
-
Sound judgement, problem-solving capability and a commitment to organisational values
Experience within a Network Operations Centre environment and relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, network engineering or similar disciplines will be highly regarded.

Location: Victoria Police Centre, Spencer Street, Docklands (with potential travel to other sites)

The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen. OR Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
