Full Job Description

Choice of Living Health Centre is seeking a highly capable and professional Medical Receptionist to join our growing, patient-centred practice.

At Choice of Living, we are committed to delivering holistic, compassionate care in a calm and respectful environment that supports both our patients and our team.

This role is suited to an experienced individual who takes pride in delivering a calm, polished, and efficient front-of-house experience, and who can confidently manage the pace and complexity of a busy clinical environment.

The Opportunity

As a key member of our front desk team, you will play an integral role in shaping each patient’s experience while ensuring the smooth and professional operation of the clinic.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering a warm, composed, and professional welcome to patients
Managing appointments with accuracy and efficiency, optimising clinic flow
Handling phone enquiries with clarity, discretion, and confidence
Processing billing, receipting, and payments with precision
Maintaining accurate and well-organised patient records
Supporting administrative operations with a high level of attention to detail
Managing patient enquiries with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgement
Assisting patients with over-the-counter health supplements and product enquiries in a professional and informative manner
Monitoring stock levels, conducting stocktakes, and supporting inventory management of in-clinic products

About You

You are an experienced medical receptionist who is confident, reliable, and naturally organised. You bring a high standard of professionalism, communicate with ease, and remain composed under pressure.

Essential:

Minimum 1 year recent experience in a GP or medical reception environment
Strong working knowledge of Medicare, DVA, and Workers Compensation billing
Proven ability to manage a high-volume front desk with accuracy and efficiency
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Polished and professional phone manner
Strong attention to detail and time management
High level of discretion and commitment to patient confidentiality
Confident computer skills and ability to adapt to practice systems

Desirable

Experience with Best Practice software
Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese (advantageous, not essential)
Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Current Driver’s Licence

Employment Details

Part-time or casual position
Approx. 15–20 hours per week (negotiable)
Availability across Monday to Saturday, with flexibility required
Opportunity for additional hours over time
