Our Team
Shine’s Class Actions practice is one of Australia’s largest and most respected, with an international footprint and a reputation for taking on complex, high-profile disputes. We’ve secured justice in landmark matters such as the First Nations Stolen Wages and Stolen Generations class actions, the Ruby Princess class action, and the Johnson & Johnson mesh class actions.
Earlier this year, we successfully appointed several highly experienced class actions lawyers - and with a further wave of new domestic and international matters now being filed, we are expanding again and seeking additional commercial litigators to meet that demand. While we are particularly interested in solicitors at the senior associate level to join our Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane CBD-based teams, we are open to all levels including special counsel and associate.
For an experienced commercial litigation solicitor, this is an opportunity to join multiple significant class actions at their point of commencement, shaping each case’s strategy and direction, and engaging in work that is both intellectually demanding and socially meaningful.
Now, we’re in an exciting new chapter. Class Actions is a strategic priority for Shine, and we have expanded into International Mass Torts (IMT) - a globally focused initiative, positioning Shine at the forefront of cross-border class action litigation. Our model involves sourcing class action litigation opportunities from the US and Europe, and litigating cases in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand. This means you’ll be part of a team that doesn’t just respond to injustice - it anticipates it, shaping the future of plaintiff litigation on a global scale. As part of our expansion, we are preparing to commence several new domestic and international mass torts class actions in Australia.
To support the growing number of people seeking collective redress for emerging injustice, we are focused on building the breadth and depth of our practice so we can take on a wider range of class actions - including social justice, employment, consumer, environmental, securities, and financial services claims. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to shine a light on injustice, and make the world a better place, one client at a time. With the experience and capability to run any type of class action, Shine combines technical excellence with bold strategic thinking to deliver outcomes that matter.
You’ll join a collegiate, high-calibre team of recognised class actions practitioners who share a relentless commitment to right wrongs. Together, we combine deep technical expertise with innovative thinking to achieve meaningful results for our clients.
