About Us

Greatland is a leading new Australian Gold-Copper producer, having recently acquired the iconic Telfer mine and the world-class Havieron gold-copper project in the Paterson region in Western Australia.

Telfer is a gold-copper mine located in the Paterson Province of the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. It includes both open-pit and underground mining operations, as well as the operation of Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since beginning gold production in 1975, Telfer has produced more than 15Moz of gold to date.

Our Telfer operations offer a fly-in fly-out work arrangement, providing our workforce with a healthy work-life balance. Onsite, we offer a broad range of recreational activities, including a recently refurbished gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room, and both dry and wet mess facilities.

About the Role

In this Mechanical Technician role you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficient operation of essential water and infrastructure systems. You will contribute to the ongoing success of the operation through maintaining the mechanical integrity of critical assets, including water extraction and distribution networks, tailings pipelines, sewage facilities, and more.

Roster: 8/6, FIFO from Perth.

Key responsibilities:

Comply with site safety policies, procedures, and standards
Perform maintenance activities in line with safety and operational requirements
Conduct regular safety inspections and report hazards promptly
Execute preventative maintenance to required standards
Identify equipment faults and raise work requests for corrective action
Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance strategies
Complete risk assessments (JSEAs) for assigned tasks
Lead small teams on maintenance activities when required
Troubleshoot and diagnose faults across critical plant equipment, including:
- Larox filter presses
- Thickeners and CCD circuits
- Pumps and valves
- Conveyor drives and braking systems
- SAG and ball mill lubrication systems
- Crushing circuit equipment
Interpret maintenance manuals, drawings, and documentation

About You

You are a reliable and motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety. You can work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude. You will also have:

Mechanical trade qualification (with ~3 years’ mining experience preferred)
Basic SAP knowledge
Experience developing JSEAs
Holds a current manual W.A. driver’s license; HR license is advantageous but not required.

Desirable:

Elevating Work Platform (EWP) licence
Overhead Crane Ticket
Telehandler licence
CN (non-slewing mobile crane) license (Franna Ticket)
Forklift licence (LF)
