We are seeking a high-caliber, commercially minded business development professional to help expand our presence in Australia. This is a slightly more senior opportunity suited to someone with a strong grounding in the institutional client market, a proactive approach to relationship development, and the confidence to represent the firm in a client-facing capacity.
Working closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will be expected to independently drive business development activity across institutional clients, build and manage a pipeline of opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to client strategy, account development, and sales execution. The role requires sound commercial judgment, strong ownership, and the ability to navigate internal and external stakeholders with minimal supervision.
As part of a lean, high-performing team with competitive investment capabilities, you will have the opportunity to shape growth initiatives, deepen institutional client relationships, and collaborate across regional and global teams. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is motivated by direct accountability for commercial outcomes.
The role is based in Melbourne, following a hybrid work model. If you are ready to take on broader responsibility and play a visible role in growing the business, we would welcome your application.
Main Responsibilities:
Drive business development activity and originate opportunities: Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s product capabilities and value proposition, proactively identify prospects, and independently schedule and lead meetings with institutional clients to generate new business opportunities.
Manage pipeline and client development: Build, maintain, and advance a sales pipeline, develop account plans, and coordinate follow-up activity to progress opportunities through to mandate conversion.
Lead and tailor pitch materials: Coordinate and help shape presentations, meeting materials, and marketing content to support institutional client engagement and sales outcomes.
Own sales reporting and CRM discipline: Maintain accurate pipeline and client records in Salesforce, monitor activity and opportunity progression, and produce high-quality sales reporting for management.
Oversee RFP and proposal coordination: Partner across sales, RFP, product, and investment teams to coordinate timely, accurate, and client-focused responses that support new business conversion.
Support relationship management and market coverage: Maintain regular contact with institutional clients, prospects, consultants, and key external stakeholders, while identifying opportunities to deepen engagement and broaden institutional market coverage.
Coordinate cross-functional execution: Work effectively with internal stakeholders across regional and global teams to deliver a high standard of client service and commercial execution.
Represent the business professionally: Participate in institutional client meetings, industry events, and internal forums as a credible representative of the firm and its investment capabilities.
