Tell me about this role:

Amentum are seeking an NV1 cleared C4I Systems Engineer to provide specialist systems engineering services supporting Defence C4I and C4ISREW capabilities across their full lifecycle. Working within a Program Office environment, you will contribute to the development, integration, verification and sustainment of complex systems, while ensuring compliance with Defence engineering standards and governance frameworks.

This role is well suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys working at the technical core of Defence capability delivery and supporting both engineering and program outcomes.

What will I be doing day to day?

Deliver systems engineering services across the full lifecycle, from capability and concept development through to verification and validation
Conduct requirements analysis and development, ensuring traceability and alignment with capability needs
Support system design, implementation, integration and certification activities
Review and assess contractor deliverables for technical quality and compliance
Participate in and supporting engineering reviews and delegated certification activities
Provide technical advice and support to program management, training development, and technical publications
Assist with the maintenance and compliance of the Engineering Management System (EMS)
Train and mentor ADF and/or APS personnel in C4I technologies and engineering practices
Support verification and validation activities, including test and acceptance processes
Undertake other engineering and technical tasks as directed by the Team Lead

What sort of skills do I need?

Bachelor of Engineering (Systems or Software preferred)
Minimum eight years’ post‑graduate experience in systems engineering roles
Strong knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle processes within complex, integrated environments
Experience working with C4I or related Defence systems
Capability in requirements development, design reviews, verification and validation
Familiarity with Defence engineering standards, governance and EMS frameworks
Ability to review technical documentation and contractor deliverables critically
Strong communication skills, with the confidence to provide technical advice and mentoring
Australian citizenship and a minimum NV1 security clearance
