We're looking for a creative and commercially minded Art Director to shape and elevate the visual identity of Commonry across all customer touchpoints. Working closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager and Creative Director, you'll lead the creative direction of brand campaigns, eCommerce, social media and digital content, bringing our seasonal stories and product collections to life through compelling still and motion imagery.
As the guardian of the Commonry brand aesthetic, you'll concept, direct and deliver engaging creative that reflects our brand DNA, resonates with our customer and drives commercial outcomes. This is a hands-on role that combines creative vision, visual storytelling and cross-functional collaboration to ensure every piece of content is fresh, cohesive and unmistakably Commonry.
THE ROLE:
- Lead the creative concepting and art direction of eCommerce, campaign and brand shoots.
- Develop mood boards, creative treatments and shoot concepts including talent, styling, locations, props, lighting, hair and make-up.
- Attend and direct monthly eCommerce and campaign shoots, ensuring all content aligns with brand standards.
- Oversee still and motion content production from concept through to final delivery.
- Manage image selects, retouching feedback and post-production processes.
- Partner with Digital and Marketing teams to develop engaging campaign extensions and content executions across website, eDM and social channels.
- Collaborate with the Studio Manager to coordinate product pulls, props and shoot logistics.
- Continuously research industry trends, competitor activity and emerging creative opportunities.
- Develop fresh, commercially relevant creative that strengthens brand awareness and customer engagement.
- Ensure consistency and excellence across all visual assets and customer-facing content.
- On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.
THE PERFECT FIT:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an Art Director role within fashion, lifestyle, retail or a similar creative environment.
- Proven experience concepting and directing eCommerce, campaign and brand shoots.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creative thinking, visual storytelling and brand development.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects, as well as Figma.
- Exceptional eye for composition, styling, imagery and brand consistency.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Commercially aware, adaptable and solutions-focused.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
