Are you an experienced Mental Health Clinician, looking for a change and who wants to help mental health consumers in times of crisis? Come and join our caring and compassionate team working shifts in both the Acute Care Team and the State-Wide Mental Health Telephone Access Line (SMHTAL) providing a point of care and contact for mental health consumers in the community.
If you are an overseas qualified Social Worker, you are required to have your qualifications assessed by the AASW to meet the position criteria.
Where you'll be working
Acute Care Team, Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service (ESMHS), located on the Prince of Wales Hospital campus, Randwick.

The role involves telephone triage and community based assessment and risk management of consumers with mental health concerns. The position is required to work as part of a 24 hour seven (7) day a week rotating roster

Position Requirements:
- Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award, current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Psychologist with a four year degree in psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
- Demonstrated core competency skills in Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol interventions in the community and experience in providing comprehensive mental health and drug & alcohol assessments.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience working with people with an acute mental illness or disorder as well as problems associated with significant drug and alcohol use.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience.
- Demonstrated computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence based practice and a commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
- Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position)
