The opportunity & how you will make an impact.
Shaping tomorrow's cities and communities begins with planning. We provide holistic strategic advice for the public and private sector to understand the full spectrum of planning.
Leveraging your technical expertise and proven skills, you'll support our clients by offering sound statutory and strategic urban planning advice and insights. As a Senior Consultant within our NSW Planning team, every day is different! You'll make an impact by:
- Contributing to multidisciplinary projects, working collaboratively with our inhouse economists, heritage planners, urban designers, social planners and transport planners
- Providing a range of services including advice relating to land use, development capability, due diligence assessments, master plans, the approval process and management
- Developing client relationships by building trust, providing quality advice and managing expectations
- Writing submissions, proposals and advice that accurately reflects the client's need
- Managing small to medium size projects, including scoping and costing of projects, tracking job costs and coordinating consultants and sub-consultants as needed
- Identifying and raise issues which may impact fee estimates or timelines.
- Coaching and developing team members
- Contributing to the development and implementation of quality assurance and support the Planning team's Business Plan
About you.

- A tertiary qualification in Urban/Town Planning or a closely related discipline along with ideally 5 years of relevant experience gained in a consultancy or local/State government environment
- Strong knowledge of statutory and strategic planning, and related legislation, ideally gained in a consultancy or local/State government environment
- Keen understanding of impacts and issues affecting land use and development
- A collaborative mindset, to bring out the best in yourself and others while bringing new thinking to Urbis and our clients
- Passion for purpose-led work, and driving a positive legacy for our communities, clients and yourself
- Authenticity to foster respect, trust and advocacy in all your work interactions
- Confidence and decisiveness to drive high performance for yourself, others and our clients
