About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Piling Design Engineer to join our team, with a strong passion for delivering design work from the contractor’s side rather than traditional consultancy.

This is a unique opportunity for a geotechnical or strong structural engineer who has an interest in geotechnical design, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment and wants to become a leading expert in piling and ground improvement design.

Experience working on the contractor side of design will be highly regarded, particularly where it involves managing competing deadlines, solving real-time design issues, and ensuring practical constructability.

Key responsibilities

Lead or support the design of piling systems, foundations, and basements on complex ground conditions
Produce and check geotechnical and structural calculations using industry-standard software such as PLAXIS and WALLAP
Design and review retention and basement structures
Collaborate with construction and delivery teams to ensure practical and efficient design outcomes
Contribute to design methodology, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team

About you

Demonstrated experience in piling, geotechnical, or foundation design
Strong geotechnical and structural engineering background
Experience using PLAXIS, WALLAP, and other relevant design software
Demonstrated experience designing basement structures and retention systems
Proven experience delivering design work on the contracting side – with strong time management and real-world problem-solving skills
Passion for constructability, practical design outcomes, and contractor-focused delivery
A team player with the ambition to grow into a specialist in ground improvement and piling design
Willingness to support estimating activities and assist in writing proposals
