The Opportunity
This Aircraft Wheel and Brake Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) has been in operation for almost 10 years and currently provides aircraft wheel and brake component maintenance to one of Australia's largest commercial airlines and many other reputable airlines!
You will be working either at our facility based at Melbourne Airport - Melbourne or our facility based at Hendra - Brisbane.
These roles are a crucial part of the production process where the successful candidates will become part of a strong multi-cultural team of experienced colleagues reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager within one of the world's leading Aircraft Wheel and Brake Maintenance Repair Organisations (MRO) that is approved by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority - CASA and the European Aviation Safety Authority - EASA.
Permanent Full-Time Position.
You will accomplish production operations and guarantee that disassembly, inspection, repairs, assembly and testing of wheel and brake components remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring and organising workflows. Assisting in meeting daily assembly goals, the Aircraft Wheel and Brake Technician is an integral part of the production process.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of aircraft wheel and brake components in accordance with the applicable approved maintenance data, with duties including;
Disassembly
Cleaning
Visual inspections and functional inspections
Repairs
Assembly of aircraft wheels and brakes
Testing of aircraft wheels and brakes
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Completed an acceptable level of secondary schooling and be a minimum 21 years of age
Background in an aviation component technical, engineering or relevant field will be an advantage
Completed vocational training as an aircraft mechanic or equivalent technical vocational training or minimum 2 Years experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer / Aircraft Technician also an advantage
Experience in maintenance on aircraft wheels or brakes (Not mandatory)
Working knowledge of IT systems, including MS Office, Quantum Control, TRAX etc
Knowledge of the aircraft component maintenance or aircraft maintenance / operations procedures
Knowledge of CASA and/or EASA Part 145 regulations
Proven job as a responsible employee in component or mechanical maintenance / operations
SKILLS
Experience as an AME – Mechanical / Structural Aircraft Wheel and Brake Technician in C14 or similar role such as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer / Aircraft Technician will be considered an advantage
Experience as a qualified automotive technician / mechanic
Experience in using various types of production equipment, tools and measuring equipment
Organisational abilities
Communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
Problem-solving skills
Spoken and written English language skills mandatory
WHAT WE OFFER
Permanent Full-Time employment.
Attractive working conditions.
38-hour week, Monday to Friday 07:00 to 15:21.
Overtime available if required however not mandated.
All tooling and equipment is provided.
All PPE and safety equipment supplied as safety is of no compromise at TP Aerospace.
