About the Role

Join the South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA) as a Grade 2 Social Worker or Psychologist within the Children, Young People and Families Team. In this rewarding and highly specialised role, you will work primarily with children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours, supporting them and their families through evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions.

You will undertake comprehensive assessments, deliver therapeutic counselling, and collaborate closely with carers and key agencies to promote safety, reduce risk, and achieve positive behavioural change. This role requires a thoughtful, collaborative approach, balancing clinical expertise with strong advocacy and engagement skills.

Working across SECASA sites and outreach locations, you will also contribute to intake, duty, and after-hours crisis response rosters, and play a key role in community education and service development. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, values-driven team environment.

We have 2 Full Time, Fixed term opportunities available, until 30 June 2027.

SECASA, a program of Monash Health, provides specialist sexual assault and family violence services across Melbourne’s southern metropolitan region. Our work spans supporting victim-survivors, delivering services for children and young people displaying harmful sexual behaviours, and leading community education and prevention initiatives.

Our Children, Young People and Families Team is a dedicated, trauma-informed group committed to creating safer futures for children and families. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace where staff are supported, valued, and encouraged to grow professionally.

About You

You are a compassionate and skilled Social Worker or Psychologist with a strong commitment to supporting children, young people, and families impacted by trauma and harmful sexual behaviours. You bring experience in assessment and therapeutic intervention, with a sound understanding of child development, trauma, and risk.

You thrive in a multidisciplinary environment and are confident working collaboratively with families, carers, and external agencies such as Child Protection, Victoria Police, and community services. Your ability to build trust, manage complex and sensitive situations, and deliver evidence-based interventions will be key to your success.

You are adaptable, resilient, and able to manage a varied caseload across multiple sites. With strong communication, documentation, and organisational skills, you maintain high professional standards and contribute positively to team and service development.
