About the Role
As Data Engineer, you will design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines, integrations and platforms that support Hewitt’s analytics, reporting and automation goals. Working closely with the Data Architect, you will help optimise Lakehouse environments, improve data quality and enable secure, reliable data delivery across the business. This is a hands-on role in a collaborative technology team focused on practical outcomes and continuous improvement working on a maximum 18-month contract.

Build and maintain scalable batch and real-time data ingestion pipelines supporting analytics, AI, BI, and automation workloads. (Python, SQL)
- Develop structured and semi‑structured datasets within Lakehouse environments (Databricks, Microsoft Fabric).
- Optimise data pipelines for cost, performance, reliability, and maintainability (Databricks, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions).
- Implement robust data quality, validation, and observability frameworks.

About You
You are a practical and technically capable data professional who enjoys building robust solutions and improving how data flows across the organisation. You bring strong engineering capability, a structured approach to governance and security, and the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. You are curious, collaborative and committed to delivering reliable outcomes that support better decision making.
You Will Bring
- Experience building data pipelines with Python and SQL
- Exposure to Databricks, Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms
- Knowledge of data governance, quality and security practices
- Integration and automation experience across cloud services and APIs
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
