5North Holdings Pty Ltd aims to address Australia’s significant housing shortage and global environmental challenges by offering innovative construction solutions. We design, supply and manufacture quality structural components using an industrialised construction approach and sustainable methods, helping clients deliver ultra-low carbon homes at scale.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BIM Modeller – Structural & Architectural Documentation to join our growing Adelaide-based team on a full-time basis.
This role is suited to a specialist BIM professional with deep expertise in Revit-based modelling, high-volume documentation production, and integrated architectural and structural workflows within residential construction.
The successful candidate will be experienced in producing accurate 2D and 3D models, BIM workflows, parametric modelling and template development, design automation and integration with construction detailing that complies with Australian codes and practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BIM Modelling & Structural Documentation:
- Develop and maintain BIM models in Revit for residential projects, ensuring integration across disciplines.
- Produce high-quality 3D documentation for residential projects, including reinforced concrete drawings, structural plans, sections, and construction details.
- Produce fabrication drawings for factory production and technical sheets for full project packages using Revit.
- Prepare architectural documentation and technical details supporting project delivery in Revit.
- Deliver high-volume documentation packages (typically 80–100+ drawings per project) within compressed delivery timeframes.
- Develop and implement parametric Revit families and office-wide BIM templates to standardise and accelerate documentation workflows.
- Optimise BIM workflows and documentation processes to improve delivery efficiency in a small, production-focused team environment.
- Contribute to design coordination and workflow improvements within the team.
Reinforced Concrete Structures:
- Create and maintain BIM models in Revit for residential buildings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Produce reinforced concrete documentation for structures with complex architectural challenges, including multi-level buildings with structural spans between 6 to 11 metres.
- Detail complex structural systems for residential developments.
- Produce structural design documentation on sloped sites, with a focus on cost-effective structural solutions.
- Support constructability reviews, quantity take-offs and cost estimation during the project lifecycle.
Collaboration & Coordination:
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to meet client requirements and ensure compliance with NCC and Australian standards.
- Support senior designers and project managers in delivering precise and efficient design outcomes.
- Conduct site measurements, technical visits, and coordinate approvals with public agencies.
- Ability to contribute to BIM training and internal process improvements.
Light Steel Framing & Alternative Systems
- Exposure to Light Steel Framing (LSF) systems and ability to support documentation and coordination with engineering teams.
- Generate engineering drawings using Revit, collaborating with engineers and production teams during the design and construction phases.
Compliance & Quality:
- Ensure construction detailing and documentation comply with codes and standards (BCA/NCC, Australian Standards) and industry best practices.
- Apply strong attention to detail, task planning, and delivery within deadlines across all documentation packages.
- Recognise and implement problem-solving and workflow optimisation to improve drafting efficiency.
- Support cost estimation inputs and documentation accuracy for residential construction projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must satisfy the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
