About the role:

The National Manager, Global Resilience & Security is a senior role within the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Enterprise. The position leads the strategic and operational response to global resilience, security and foreign interference risk, with an enterprise-wide remit across ACU.

The role proactively monitors the evolving threat landscape, establishes robust due diligence frameworks, and supports informed decision-making and risk mitigation in relation to international collaborations, industry partnerships and other external engagements. It also ensures compliance with relevant national security legislation and frameworks, including foreign interference and export controls, while supporting ACU to operate in the national interest and maintain public trust.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of institution-wide due diligence and governance frameworks for international collaborations and external engagements
Establish and oversee processes to identify, assess and monitor risks, including foreign interference, and ensure compliance with relevant national security obligations e.g. UFIT, export controls, sanctions and defence-related frameworks
Provide strategic advice and briefings to senior executives and governance committees on high-risk partnerships, emerging threats and institutional exposure
Lead the response to security risks and incidents, including coordination with external agencies and protection of critical technologies and sensitive research for ACU
Strengthen organisational capability by developing policies, systems, training and guidance, and fostering a culture of informed, secure and compliant engagement across the University.

Total remuneration val ued to $181,480 - $181,480 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $153,581 - $153,581 (pro rata) pa (HEW 10 Base 1), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
17% employer superannuation contributions to eligibl e continuing and fixed-term staff.
Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
