The Learning House is seeking a passionate, dedicated and inspiring Early Childhood Teacher to join our professional team. We are looking for an educator who takes pride in creating engaging, innovative and meaningful learning experiences that support every child to reach their full potential.
As our Early Childhood Teacher, you will provide educational leadership and guidance to the team while delivering high-quality programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS) and Education and Care Services National Regulations. You will play a key role in fostering a positive learning culture, supporting continuous improvement, and building strong relationships with children, families and educators.
About the Role
As the Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating a high-quality educational program that reflects children's interests, strengths and developmental needs. Working collaboratively with the Centre Leadership Team and educators, you will support best practice and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide educational leadership, mentoring and support to educators through curriculum development, reflective practice and continuous quality improvement initiatives across the service.
- Develop, implement and evaluate engaging play-based learning programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF).
- Plan and facilitate engaging educational experiences across both indoor and outdoor learning environments using a range of resources and materials that support children's development, participation and learning outcomes.
- Use intentional teaching practices to support and extend children's language, literacy, communication, social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through a variety of learning experiences, including storytelling, music, role play, group interactions and play-based activities.
- Observe, assess and document children's learning, development and progress in accordance with service policies and procedures, identifying emerging strengths, interests and areas where additional support may be required.
- Monitor children's health, wellbeing, safety and developmental needs, responding appropriately to concerns and working collaboratively with families and relevant professionals where required.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that promotes children's sense of belonging, confidence and agency.
- Build positive, respectful and collaborative relationships with children, families and community stakeholders, maintaining regular communication regarding children's learning, development and wellbeing.
- Support and guide educators in implementing quality educational practices and achieving positive learning and developmental outcomes for children.
- Participate in family engagement initiatives and centre activities that strengthen connections between the service, children and their families.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and ongoing review of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
- Maintain compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law, National Regulations and National Quality Standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reflective practice and professional growth through participation in team meetings, professional learning and collaborative planning activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional learning opportunities and community engagement activities.
- Support and supervise Early Childhood Education students undertaking professional placements where applicable.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood), Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education, or ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification.
- At least one year of full-time equivalent professional experience in an early childhood education and care setting, with demonstrated experience supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
- Current NESA Teacher Accreditation (or eligibility to obtain accreditation).
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS), Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
- Sound understanding of child development theories and contemporary early childhood education practices.
- Experience planning, implementing and evaluating play-based learning programs that support children's learning, development and wellbeing.
- Strong observation, assessment and documentation skills, including the ability to monitor children's progress, identify developmental needs and plan responsive learning experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments that support the diverse needs of children.
- Demonstrated commitment to reflective practice, continuous improvement and ongoing professional learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a professional team environment.
- Commitment to child safety, safeguarding practices and children's wellbeing.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working with children across different age groups within an early childhood education and care setting.
- Experience implementing educational programs in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF).
- Experience providing educational leadership, mentoring or support to educators.
- Experience contributing to Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Additional language skills and experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse children and families.
- Food Handling Certificate, Mandatory Reporting Certificate, Red Nose Safe Sleep Training or other relevant early childhood professional development certifications.
- Experience supporting Early Childhood Education students undertaking professional placements.
- Knowledge of educational documentation systems and digital learning platforms used within early childhood services.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
