Full Job Description

At Adapt Health Club, we are more than a gym. We are a premium health, fitness and performance environment focused on coaching excellence, education, community and long-term health outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and hands-on Fitness Centre Manager to help lead the day-to-day operations of the club while delivering a high-quality member experience. This role combines leadership, operations, coaching and business development responsibilities within a boutique, high-performance setting.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director, you will oversee the daily operations, programming and member experience of the facility while contributing to the strategic growth of the business.

This is a leadership role requiring strong organisational skills, professionalism, initiative and a genuine passion for health and fitness.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise and oversee the range and delivery of fitness programs, coaching services and member experiences offered by the club
Coordinate and promote events, challenges, workshops and member engagement initiatives
Organise publicity and marketing initiatives to promote the facility and attract new members
Schedule fitness events, group training sessions, in-house competitions and community activities
Recruit, onboard, train and supervise coaching and support staff
Ensure the facility is professionally presented, properly maintained and compliant with health and safety standards
Assist in developing operational systems, service standards and member retention strategies
Support front-of-house operations and member relationship management
Coach and instruct clients through personal training, semi-private coaching and group fitness sessions
Assist with programming and training delivery aligned with the club’s coaching philosophy
Coordinate external contractors, suppliers and operational resources where required
Assist with hospitality and catering coordination for member events and experiences

About You

You are passionate about health, fitness and leadership and thrive in a dynamic, people-focused environment.

Essential Requirements

Minimum Certificate III & IV in Fitness
Minimum 2 years’ relevant industry experience in fitness, coaching or fitness centre operations
Strong understanding of strength & conditioning principles and coaching delivery
Experience leading teams or supervising staff
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional presentation and attention to detail
Current First Aid & CPR certification
Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
Australian driver’s licence
Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends

Desirable

Diploma in Fitness, Sport Management, Business or related field
Experience in premium fitness, wellness or hospitality environments
Skills in marketing, social media, content creation or business development
Experience with gym management software systems
Understanding of member retention and customer experience strategies

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Maintain a high standard of coaching delivery and professionalism
Facilitate approximately 30-40 sessions weekly
Contribute positively to member retention and club culture
Support operational efficiency and business growth initiatives
Uphold Adapt Health Club’s standards, systems and brand values at all times
