Position Information

Established in 1880, Mosman Public School [442 students, 19.7% EAL/D, 35.6% LBOTE] has a rich history and values its traditions. Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach Kindergarten to Year 6:

1. A proven capacity to work and lead collaboratively as part of a team and effectively balance the dual role of an exemplary teacher and the complex responsibilities of an Assistant Principal.

2. A deep understanding of current evidence-based research in effective instruction and data analysis with the demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, coach and build the capacity of a team of teachers to improve student outcomes in literacy, numeracy and/or wellbeing.

3. A highly visible and approachable leader with strong interpersonal skills, promoting public education to build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with all stakeholders.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
