Employment Term: Casual Opportunity Available

Remuneration: $45.49 - $64.49/ hr + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances

Your part in our St Andrews War Memorial Hospital team

As a Speech Pathologist at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital, you will be involved in the care of patients in the neurology, acute stroke, rehabilitation, medical, surgical, critical care and emergency units within the hospital, working with patients to assess, diagnose, treat and manage a range of communication and swallowing impairments.

With a focus on delivering high-quality clinical expertise, you will be an experienced practitioner, providing clinical practice development and training opportunities to less experienced allied health staff, assistants and students, under the guidance of senior clinical staff.

You will deliver high quality speech pathology clinical services across a number of clinical areas, incorporating strategies within speech pathology processes and treatment plans, with a commitment to providing exceptional person-centred care.

What makes a difference for us?

Tertiary Degree in Speech Pathology
Certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia
Minimum 2 years post graduate clinical experience in acute tertiary hospital setting
Experience with Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study desirable
Competency in Tracheostomy desirable
Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements
Provide high quality, safe, efficient and evidence-based Speech Pathology clinical services across a number of clinical areas with increasing independence and complexity as experience is gained.
Provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced practitioners, such as students involved in clinical placements; and provide direction to assistant and support staff.
Contribute to the management of workflow, workload management and prioritisation of caseloads within a specific work area on a day to day basis.
Accurate documentation and timely reporting of clinical issues, caseloads, activity data and workplace health and safety in accordance with professional standards.
