Padua College is an independent Catholic Boys' Day School from Years 5-12 conducted by the Order of Franciscan Friars minor with an enrolment of over 1500 boys.

About the Role

Reporting to the Vice Rector Learning Improvement & Innovation, the Learning Area Leader (Inclusive Learning) provides strategic and operational leadership across:

Inclusive curriculum design and delivery.
Contemporary pedagogy and teacher development.
Student support, intervention, and data-informed practice.
Compliance and excellence in inclusive education standards.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, including Learning Guardians, Speech Pathologists, and Teacher Aides, ensuring all students can access, participate in, and succeed in their learning. This appointment will be for an initial term of four (4) years, in accordance with Clause S2.13.1 for Middle Leadership. This appointment includes a permanent position as a teacher and includes a teaching role for the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities:
Faculty & Leadership Excellence

Drive a clear and compelling vision for inclusive learning aligned with the College’s Learning Framework.
Lead and mentor staff through coaching, professional dialogue, and performance development.
Build staff capability in differentiation, Universal Design for Learning, and co-teaching practices.
Oversee faculty operations, processes, and budget management.

Curriculum & Pedagogy

Lead innovative, evidence-based teaching practices across all phases of learning.
Ensure curriculum and assessment meet regulatory and authority requirements.
Promote digital pedagogies that enhance accessibility and engagement.
Support the development of personalised learning plans (PSPs, ICPs).

Data & Student Outcomes

Champion data-informed teaching and targeted interventions.
Lead NCCD processes, compliance, and staff capability development.
Monitor student progress and support at-risk learners academically, socially, and emotionally.
Coordinate transition pathways for students requiring additional support.

Professional Learning & Collaboration

Lead Professional Learning Teams and targeted development initiatives.
Work in partnership with Heads of School and key stakeholders.
Foster a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.

Catholic Identity

Embed the Franciscan ethos across teaching and learning.
Support faith formation through curriculum and faculty practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor of Education (or equivalent).
Current Queensland College of Teachers registration.
Demonstrated expertise in inclusive education and leadership.
Strong knowledge of Disability Standards for Education (2005) and NCCD requirements.

Skills & Capabilities

Proven ability to lead and inspire teams in a collaborative environment.
Expertise in differentiation, inclusive practices, and curriculum development.
Strong data analysis skills to drive student outcomes.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
High level of organisation, initiative, and professional integrity.
