We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our Network operations and delivery team. This team is responsible for the operation and implementation of innovative network solutions for DXC’s federal government and State government accounts.
Responsibilities
- Network Operations – Daily network operational support within the scope of the managed support services contract. Perform daily tasks to maintain network operability within SLAs, working within DXC ITIL framework for incident, change and problem management.
- Network project delivery – involvement in planning and rollout of network projects working closely with DXC project managers and other stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted technical authority and actively contribute to the planning and execution of implementations ensuring successful outcomes.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing by mentoring junior engineers and providing support during incidents, promoting growth and capability development.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management. Ensure both Internal and external stakeholders are provided necessary information about project status, issues, risks and change requests.
- Will involve some after-hours work for scheduled activities or in some cases to assist with critical incidents which may arise.
- Participate in network on-call rosters as required.
- Work onsite at customers premises at least 3 days a week within a hybrid work model.
Essential Skills and Experience
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network operations, with a focus on Aruba and Fortinet technologies.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Aruba CX platform and use of Aruba Central (on Prem preferred) management platform.
- Excellent working knowledge and experience with Aruba WiFi, Mobility Master and ClearPass
- Proficient in Fortigate Firewalls, SD-WAN, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer vendor management platforms.
- Expertise in routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, MLAG, STP, etc..
- Familiarity with industry-standard ITIL practices and platforms such as ServiceNow.
- Working knowledge and experience with DNS/DHCP/IPAM management
- Familiarity or exposure to Azure or cloud networking, Linux, Visio
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous network operations experience within a federal government arena.
- Previous network design skills would be favourably looked upon.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex network challenges.
Communication Skills
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Teamwork
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education/Certifications
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Engineering highly desirable
- Relevant Aruba and Fortinet Industry Certifications
- Other relevant vendor certifications
Other Must Haves
- The role is based in Canberra.
- Australian citizenship is mandatory. The applicant must hold at least a Baseline security clearance and be eligible to obtain NV1 clearance.
