Full Job Description

La Belle Miette, Melbourne’s macaron specialist patisserie, is seeking a retail sales assistant to work in our new Canberra site (in Canberra Centre).

We specialise in small delights. As a retail assistant, you help create the beautiful experience of visiting our patisseries, providing exceptional customer service to ensure needs are met and expectations exceeded. You should be excited to learn about the ingredients, techniques and flavours so that you can speak knowledgeably with customers who may be making small over the counter purchases or seeking your advice for wedding and event favours and catering.

Key Qualifications

Ability to deliver a great customer experience
Good communication skills that let you converse as freely and comfortably with small groups as with individual customers.
Attention to detail, cleanliness and a visual eye
High initiative/proactivity, ability to work independently

A little about La Belle Miette

La Belle Miette (meaning the “beautiful crumb” or “beautiful small thing”) is a passion for macarons and French taste more generally. We specialise in small delights – macarons, chocolate bonbons, dragées and the largest range in Australia of tea from Mariage Frères, the leading tea house of Paris. The detail and attention inherent in our products is congruent with a range of elements that the company strives to deliver in all areas of the customer experience.

Founders Maylynn and Hugh lead a devoted team in continuing to grow, develop and evolve the company. La Belle Miette has several stores in Melbourne and in Sydney.

The role is primarily to work in our new Canberra Centre location. The head office, kitchen and direct manufactory store is located in Richmond and we also have retail sites at Chadstone and QVB in Sydney.

Able to work independently and eager to do hands-on work when required

Available 10-15 hours per week
