About Premier Wealth Protection
Premier Wealth Protection is a boutique Australian life insurance brokerage helping individuals, families and business owners protect what matters most through life, TPD, trauma and income protection insurance.
We are a relationship-led business focused on trust, responsiveness and long-term client care. Our clients are supported through the full insurance journey — from initial enquiry and advice through to application, implementation, reviews and claims support.
As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Risk Adviser / Life Insurance Sales Consultant to manage their own pipeline, convert opportunities and help grow the next stage of Premier Wealth Protection.
About the role
This is a client-facing, sales-focused role for someone with genuine experience in the Australian life insurance industry.
You will be responsible for managing your own pipeline of new business and review opportunities, with clear KPIs around activity, conversion, client outcomes and revenue generation.
You will work alongside our principal adviser, Ben, and our client service team, but this is not a support role. You will be expected to take ownership of client opportunities, manage follow-up, progress cases and contribute directly to new business growth.
The role would suit someone who is commercially minded, confident speaking with clients, and comfortable working in a growing business where initiative, accountability and strong follow-through matter.
Key responsibilities
- Manage your own pipeline of prospective clients, leads and review opportunities
- Engage with new enquiries and referral opportunities in a professional and timely manner
- Conduct client conversations to understand needs, objectives and current insurance arrangements
- Identify appropriate opportunities across life, TPD, trauma and income protection insurance
- Book and conduct client meetings, where appropriate to your authorisation and experience
- Progress clients from initial enquiry through to application and implementation
- Follow up quotes, outstanding information, incomplete applications and review opportunities
- Work with clients to help them understand the insurance process and next steps
- Liaise with insurers and underwriting teams to progress applications
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline notes and activity tracking
- Meet agreed KPIs around activity, appointments, conversion and new business
- Work collaboratively with the client service team to ensure a smooth client experience
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and referral partners
- Escalate complex matters where appropriate and operate within the business’s compliance framework
KPIs and accountability
This role will carry clear performance expectations, which may include:
- Lead response times
- Number of client conversations
- Appointments booked and attended
- Quote or review opportunities progressed
- Applications submitted
- Conversion rates
- New business revenue
- Client follow-up completion
- CRM and pipeline hygiene
- Client experience and compliance quality
We are looking for someone who is comfortable being measured on performance and who takes ownership of their results.
Compliance and advice framework
This role requires a strong understanding of the Australian life insurance environment and the distinction between sales activity, client engagement, general information and personal financial advice.
The exact scope of advice-related activity will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, authorisations and experience. All client conversations and recommendations must operate within the business’s compliance and licensing framework.
We are looking for someone who can use sound judgement, communicate clearly with clients, and operate commercially while maintaining appropriate professional and compliance standards.
Required experience and skills
- Experience in the Australian life insurance or risk advice industry
- Strong understanding of life, TPD, trauma and income protection insurance
- Proven ability to manage leads, follow up opportunities and convert new business
- Confidence speaking directly with Australian clients and prospective clients
- Ability to build trust quickly and communicate around sensitive personal and financial topics
- Strong commercial mindset and sales discipline
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your own pipeline
- High attention to detail and strong follow-through
- Strong phone, email and client meeting skills
- Good judgement around compliance, client sensitivity and escalation
- Comfortable using CRMs, email, spreadsheets and client management systems
Highly regarded
- Experience as a risk adviser, associate adviser, insurance sales consultant or life insurance specialist
- Experience working with Australian life insurance advisers, brokerages, insurers or licensees
- Existing RG146 or relevant advice qualifications
- Experience with review campaigns, referral partner opportunities or warm lead conversion
- Familiarity with insurer underwriting processes and application requirements
- Experience with HubSpot, Omnium, CDM, Xplan, AdviserLogic or similar platforms
The ideal person
You are commercially driven but not pushy. You understand that life insurance is a trust-based sale and that the best outcomes come from strong questioning, consistent follow-up and genuine care for the client.
You are confident managing your own activity and pipeline, and you do not need to be micromanaged. You are comfortable working to KPIs, following through on opportunities and being accountable for results.
You are proactive, resilient and organised. You know how to progress a client from enquiry to application while maintaining a high-quality client experience.
Remuneration
We are open to discussing a remuneration structure that reflects the candidate’s experience, capability and expected contribution.
This may include salary, commission, or a hybrid salary/commission structure.
