The Opportunity: Planner Scheduler
We are seeking an experienced Planner Scheduler to join our team in Brisbane, supporting a portfolio of major demolition, decommissioning and remediation projects across Liberty Industrial's East Coast division.
This is an office-based role with occasional travel to project sites to support project teams, validate progress, and ensure alignment between planning and execution. Current and upcoming projects include the ExxonMobil Altona Refinery Demolition in Victoria and the BlueScope Steelworks project in Port Kembla, NSW, along with other significant industrial and infrastructure projects.
In this role you will play a critical role in developing, maintaining and analysing project schedules, providing insights that support successful project delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Site Leadership teams across multiple projects while enjoying the stability of a Brisbane-based position.
Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and monitor project schedules using P6.
- Prepare and update baseline schedules, contract programs, internal target programs and lookahead schedules.
- Monitor project progress and analyse performance against planned milestones.
- Support project teams with forecasting, critical path analysis and schedule recovery planning.
- Produce weekly and monthly reporting, including progress updates, schedule narratives, S-curve analysis and KPI reporting.
- Identify schedule risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to project teams.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and Commercial teams to ensure accurate planning information.
- Participate in periodic site visits to verify progress, gather project data and strengthen relationships with site teams.
- Assist with tender planning, methodology development and schedule preparation for future opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within Liberty Industrial's project controls function.
Skills and Experiences:
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Planning or Scheduling role, preferably within the construction, industrial services, infrastructure, major projects or related industries.
- Advanced Primavera P6 experience is essential.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience supporting EOT assessments and providing schedule-based contract insights
- Experience preparing and analysing project schedules, progress reporting and forecasting.
- Ability to interpret project documentation, work scopes and construction methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to demolition, decommissioning, shutdowns, remediation, mining or heavy industrial projects is advantageous.
