Your new role:
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to take ownership of the technical delivery of complex engineering projects.
This is a highly influential role where you’ll be the key technical interface between Marand and our customers, turning requirements and challenges into practical, innovative engineering solutions.
You’ll work across mechanical and electrical engineering, automation, pneumatics and hydraulics, collaborating with customers, designers, project teams and manufacturing specialists to deliver solutions that are technically sound, commercially viable and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of mechanical and electrical engineering solutions for automation and complex industrial applications.
- Translate customer requirements into practical, innovative and robust technical solutions.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, building strong relationships and providing expert engineering guidance.
- Take ownership of technical scope, requirements, budget, risk and quality across engineering projects.
- Lead technical discussions and communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop engineering and design schedules and ensure designs meet customer, statutory and internal requirements.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, project management, manufacturing and other functions.
- Produce and review high-quality engineering and technical documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve designs, processes and engineering outcomes.
Skills and Experiences:
About You:
We’re looking for an engineer who combines strong technical capability with the confidence to lead, influence and solve problems.
You’ll ideally have:
- A formal Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
- Current professional engineering registration — applicants must be a registered engineer to be considered.
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior engineering role.
- Strong experience with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems.
- Experience working with dynamic, complex systems in industrial or automated environments.
- A strong solutions-focused mindset and genuine commitment to delivering great outcomes for customers.
- Proven experience managing complex engineering projects and working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to take ownership, make sound technical decisions and see projects through from concept to delivery.
