About the Role
Opasa Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Principal ICT Business Analyst – AI & Digital Transformation to support enterprise clients with complex technology-enabled business transformation. The role will lead business analysis across AI, digital, data and automation initiatives, working closely with business leaders and ICT delivery teams to translate strategic objectives into clear business requirements, process improvements, functional specifications and implementable technology outcomes.
This is a senior hands-on ICT business analysis role with stakeholder leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will facilitate executive and business workshops, guide analysis activities across transformation workstreams and help ensure proposed ICT solutions meet documented business needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Engage business users, executives and technology stakeholders to elicit, analyse, validate and document business and ICT requirements.
- Analyse existing business processes, procedures, systems and work practices to identify gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for technology-enabled improvement.
- Define current-state and future-state processes using appropriate business analysis, workflow and process-modelling techniques.
- Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, user stories, acceptance criteria and functional specifications.
- Assess AI, Generative AI, automation, data and digital solution options against business requirements, technical feasibility, risk, compliance, scalability and expected business value.
- Act as a key interface between business stakeholders and ICT teams, including solution architects, engineers, data specialists, cybersecurity, product and delivery teams.
- Evaluate proposed ICT solutions, identify functional gaps and provide recommendations to ensure alignment with agreed business requirements and objectives.
- Maintain requirements traceability through design, build, testing and implementation, and manage requirement changes in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Support functional testing and user acceptance testing by defining business scenarios, validating outcomes and confirming that delivered solutions meet agreed requirements.
- Prepare business cases, options assessments, impact analyses and recommendations for AI and digital transformation initiatives.
- Facilitate requirements workshops, executive presentations, analysis sessions and decision forums, translating complex technology concepts into practical business outcomes.
- Provide senior-level guidance on business analysis approach, requirements governance, stakeholder alignment and documentation quality across assigned transformation workstreams.
- Contribute to AI and digital transformation roadmaps, governance frameworks and implementation planning while maintaining alignment to documented business requirements.
- Coordinate with project and program leadership on scope, dependencies, risks, priorities and delivery planning relevant to assigned ICT initiatives.
- Mentor business analysts and cross-functional team members in business analysis standards, stakeholder engagement and requirements management.
Required Experience & Skills
- 15+ years of professional experience across ICT, business analysis, technology transformation, consulting, project/program delivery or related enterprise environments.
- Strong experience eliciting, analysing and documenting business and ICT requirements for complex technology initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience analysing business processes and systems and developing process models, functional specifications, business cases and implementation recommendations.
- Experience supporting enterprise digital transformation, AI, automation, data or cloud-enabled technology initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder-management capability, including experience working with senior executives, business leaders and cross-functional technology teams.
- Strong understanding of AI, Generative AI, automation, data and analytics, cloud platforms and enterprise technology environments.
- Understanding of technology risk, cybersecurity, privacy, governance and regulatory considerations.
- Experience supporting solution evaluation, testing, user acceptance and implementation activities.
- Telecommunications or Financial Services industry experience is highly regarded.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems or a related discipline; or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Relevant business analysis, project delivery, IT service management, cloud, data or AI certifications are advantageous.What We Are Looking For
