The Regulatory Compliance Lead- Australia and Singapore will support Corpay’s APAC payment and FX derivatives operations, with a particular focus on the Australian and Singaporean regulatory landscapes.
Role Overview
Corpay Cross-Border is seeking a highly experienced Regulatory Compliance Lead to support and strengthen our regulatory framework across Australia and Singapore.
This role is critical in ensuring compliance with ASIC and MAS regulatory requirements, particularly as they apply to cross-border payments, foreign exchange (spot, forwards, options), client money handling, licensing obligations, and financial services conduct. The successful candidate will bring deep technical regulatory expertise, strong interpretive capability, and experience translating regulatory obligations into operational controls within a fast-paced financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Advisory & Interpretation
- Act as subject matter expert on MAS (PS Act, SFA, AML/CFT Notices, TRM Guidelines) and ASIC (AFSL, Corporations Act, RG guidance, DDO, AML/CTF Act) requirements.
- Provide technical regulatory advice to business, product, operations, and risk teams.
- Interpret new and evolving regulatory requirements and assess impact to the business.
- Draft regulatory gap analyses and implementation plans.
Regulatory Framework & Governance
- Maintain and enhance compliance frameworks across AU and SG entities.
- Develop and update policies and procedures aligned with regulatory obligations.
- Ensure regulatory obligations registers remain accurate and current.
- Support Board and senior management reporting on regulatory risk.
Product & Change Advisory
- Review new product proposals (FX spot, forwards, options, payment solutions).
- Provide compliance input on licensing perimeter issues.
- Assess conduct, disclosure, and client classification implications.
- Support regulatory impact assessments for system and process changes.
Regulatory Engagement
- Support interactions with MAS and ASIC, including regulatory queries, thematic reviews, and onsite inspections.
- Assist in preparing regulatory submissions and breach notifications (where applicable).
- Monitor enforcement trends and industry developments.
Monitoring & Assurance
- Design or enhance compliance monitoring programs.
- Support second-line reviews and thematic testing.
- Identify control weaknesses and recommend remediation actions.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience within:
- Cross-border payments
- FX / derivatives
- Fintech or non-bank financial institutions
- Banks with international payments exposure
- Deep working knowledge of:
- MAS Payment Services Act
- MAS AML/CFT Notices (PSN01/PSN02 or relevant notices)
- Securities and Futures Act (SFA)
- ASIC AFSL regime
- Corporations Act
- AML/CTF Act (Australia)
- Demonstrated experience translating regulatory obligations into operational frameworks.
- Experience engaging with regulators or responding to regulatory reviews.
- Strong policy drafting and regulatory writing skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a senior advisory capacity.
Desirable:
- Technical FX Derivatives knowledge/ ability to analyse a portfolio
- Experience across both AU and SG jurisdictions.
- Exposure to NZ FMA regime.
- Legal, risk, or audit background.
- Professional qualifications (e.g., CAMS, law degree, compliance certification).
