As a Waste Truck Driver/Labourer, you will be required to work on roster collecting waste from household, commercial and public bins throughout the City in a safe, efficient and effective manner while adhering to safety procedures and maintaining a high level of customer service.

To be successful in this role, you must have current and valid ‘HR’ (minimum ‘HR-A’) class driver’s licence, and experience in the operation of side and/or rear loader waste collection vehicles. You are able to work independently and possess good time management skills.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

Demonstrated experience in waste collection vehicle operation
Demonstrated ability to deal with a variety of situations requiring a sensible and calm service approach
Experience complying with relevant Work Health and Safety legislation and working in a safe and efficient manner, having regard to own safety, the public and that of other workers.
Minimum of one year’s experience driving heavy vehicles in a built-up metropolitan areas
A satisfactory National police certificate is required

This position offers a gross wage of $1,669 per week which incorporates all allowances including the adverse conditions allowance and penalty rates, and:

12% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
A variety of health and wellbeing programs - physical health reimbursement subsidy payment of up to $200 per annum, free flu vaccinations, free skin cancer checks, mental health programs and Employee Assistance Provider (EAP) services
Up to two additional paid days of absence per annum
Salary packaging opportunities for motor vehicles, etc
