Do you have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and experience in Laboratory Testing, CMT or metallurgy? We’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for a fulltime Trainer / Assessor – Laboratory Operations to join our Perth team.

A day in the life

Drawing on your passion for teaching and your industry experience, you’ll play a key role in equipping students with practical laboratory skills and confidence.

A typical day could see you:

Delivering engaging on-site or online training to workplace clients across Perth, with occasional travel to regional and interstate locations
Facilitating classroom sessions in our purpose-built Osborne Park training centre
Guiding learners through the full spectrum of laboratory operations, from planning and conducting tests, recording and analysing data, maintaining laboratory operations, and more
Inspiring and supporting students as they develop the technical competencies essential to growing their careers.

Reporting to the WA Training Manager, you will be an essential part of a close-knit team supported by resource developers, quality and compliance specialists, and a dedicated corporate services team based in our Perth head office.

Must-haves

Qualifications

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110),

OR a diploma or higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education (e.g. TAE, TESOL),

OR a secondary teaching qualification (ideally with TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024)

A relevant laboratory qualification (such as the MSL40122 Certificate IV in laboratory techniques)

OR equivalent industry experience

Experience

Minimum 3 years practical experience in laboratory testing
Experience in Construction Materials Testing , Minerals Testing and Metallurgy will be highly regarded

Other Requirements

A valid driver’s licence
Own vehicle
Obtain/hold a current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance

Bonus points

Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
High level of computer literacy
A keen eye for detail and accuracy
Experience in the education and training sector
Experience in additional laboratory environments
