Food Services Assistant - Kitchen Hand

Permanent part time opportunity commencing July 2026
Join a dedicated and supportive Food Services team
Term time only with school holidays off

About the Role

St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Hand to join our Food Services team. The Kitchen Hand plays a vital role in supporting the efficient and high-quality operation of the College's Food Services department, undertaking food handling, catering tasks and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Day to day services included taking orders, operating the coffee machine, and packaging and labelling food.
Responsible for stock rotation, money handling and POS sales.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety and proper storage.
Be aware of food allergies and special dietary requirements.

Maintain a positive attitude and a strong commitment to supporting our students, boarders and staff.
Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively liaise with colleagues.

What You Bring

Hold or willingness to obtain an "I'm Alert" Food Safety Certificate
Prior work experience in food services industries preferred.
Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service and effective interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety and chemical handling.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
Commitment to the College’s Christian ethos and values.
