Labourer – BMD Group

About Us

BMD Group is one of Australia’s largest privately owned civil construction companies, delivering major infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, ports, water systems, and urban development works.

Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable Labourer to support civil construction projects by assisting tradespeople and site teams in general site operations, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general manual labour on civil construction sites
Assist tradespeople (carpenters, concreters, electricians, plant operators)
Carry out site preparation and cleanup (clearing debris, moving materials, setting up equipment)
Assist with earthworks and excavation support
Support concreting works (pouring, spreading, finishing assistance)
Assist with installation of pipes, drainage systems, and road materials
Operate basic tools and small equipment (when trained)
Follow WHS (Work Health & Safety) procedures at all times
Wear and maintain required PPE (helmet, boots, high-vis gear)
Follow instructions from site supervisors and project teams

Work Environment

Outdoor civil construction sites
Road, infrastructure, and development projects
Physically demanding work
Early starts and shift-based schedules

What We’re Looking For:

Valid White Card (mandatory in Australia)
Physically fit and capable of manual work
Driver’s licence (preferred)
Construction or site experience (preferred but not essential)
Strong teamwork and reliability
Safety-conscious mindset
Willingness to learn and follow instructions
