Full Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

Design and execute test strategies for data platforms (ADF & ADB pipelines)·
Validate ETL/ELT processes including data ingestion, transformation, and loading
Perform end-to-end testing of data pipelines across multiple environments
Develop and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scripts
Execute functional, regression, system, and integration testing
Validate data quality, completeness, and consistency across source and target systems
Write SQL queries to perform data validation and reconciliation checks
Test complex data transformations in Azure Databricks (PySpark/SQL)
Validate orchestration workflows and scheduling in Azure Data Factory
Identify, log, and track defects using tools like Jira/Azure DevOps
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders
Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and business validation processes
Perform API and interface testing for data integrations
Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards
Automate test processes where feasible to improve efficiency
Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
Conduct root cause analysis for data issues and defects
Validate performance and scalability of data pipelines
Maintain test documentation and ensure audit readiness
Continuously improve testing processes, frameworks, and quality standards

Skill / Competencies / Experience:

ESSENTIAL

Hands-on experience in testing ADF pipelines and Databricks workflows
Strong SQL skills for validating large datasets
Expertise in data testing (ETL, data migration, data warehouse testing)
Ability to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and completeness
Experience in defect tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps)
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED

Experience with PySpark or Python scripting in Databricks
Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
Experience in test automation tools for data pipelines
Exposure to API testing tools (Postman, REST APIs)
Experience in telecom or regulated data environments

ADDITIONAL

Education & Certifications

Strong attention to detail and data accuracy focus·
Experience in UAT coordination and stakeholder communication
Ability to work in fast-paced, data-driven environments
Excellent documentation and reporting skills
Relevant education (Bachelor’s/Master’s in IT, Computer Science, or related field) and certifications such as ISTQB, Azure (DP-203/DP-900), or Agile/Scrum
