About Us:
Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd, located in Mackay, Queensland, operates two aged care facilities: Kerrisdale Gardens and Good Shepherd Lodge. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our clinical team at Kerrisdale Gardens on a fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care, supervising and supporting care staff, and maintaining a safe and caring environment for residents.

About the Role:
This is a fixed-term, full-time opportunity for up to 4 months to cover parental leave, commencing in late June. Availability for morning shifts from Tuesday to Saturday is required.
As an RN, you will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering clinical care, supporting residents’ health and well-being, and mentoring care staff under the guidance of our facility management. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to residents, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Supervise and support care staff in delivering high-quality care
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with care plans and clinical guidelines
- Monitor and report on resident health status, including vital signs and changes in condition
- Maintain accurate resident records and documentation in compliance with healthcare standards
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents and their families
- Follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
About You:
- We are looking for a professional, compassionate, and reliable individual committed to delivering excellent nursing care. The successful candidate will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Previous experience in residential aged care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
- Commitment to resident-centered care and adherence to care plans
- Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain prior to employment
- Current Influenza (Flu) Vaccination or willingness to obtain, in line with QLD aged care requirements
- Availability to work morning shift.
