About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and engaging Cello/Double Bass Tutor to join our vibrant music program.

Casual, term-time position
Preferred start 14 July 2026 (Term 3)
Hours are dependent on student enrolments and may vary from term to term. It is anticipated that the role will involve approximately 3-4 hours per week, with a view to increasing this in time depending on enrolments
Teaching range: Beginner to advanced students (Year 5 to Year 12)
Tuition rate based on qualifications and experience

About You

To be successful in the role you will have:

Successful applicants will be enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, hard-working and able to communicate effectively with students and their parents, as well as College music and administration staff.
Tertiary pedagogy qualifications and previous teaching experience (in schools or privately) preferred.
Ability to teach beginner through to advanced students; and provide students with good foundational technical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with students including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills, and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.
An understanding of the need to work collaboratively with school staff and members of the wider community in order to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes.
