Introduction:
Reporting to the Manager – Environment & Sustainability and the Site Senior Executive, you would lead site-based environmental management to ensure full compliance with legislation, approvals, and company standards. With a focus on strategic environmental leadership, you would oversee monitoring, compliance and reporting programs and drive continuous improvement across site operations.

Your key responsibilities would be:
Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, approvals, and management plans, and maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS)
Provide advice and guidance to the Site Senior Executive and Operational Head of Departments to ensure smooth integration of operational and environmental activities
Oversee environmental monitoring across air, water, soil, flora, fauna, waste, and rehabilitation, including inspections, audits, and compliance reporting
Drive initiatives that reduce environmental impact and promote energy efficiency, waste minimisation, and effective rehabilitation practices
Integrate environmental best practice into operational planning and day-to-day decision-making
Lead, mentor, and develop environmental staff while fostering a high-performing, ESG-focused team culture
Provide training and guidance to mining operational teams to build environmental awareness, accountability and support implementation of environmental approval conditions into their processes.
Engage effectively with pastoralists, Indigenous stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams to support environmental outcomes
Manage environmental enquiries, concerns, and ensure alignment with approval conditions
Prepare regulatory and internal reports, maintaining accurate monitoring and compliance records
Support environmental approvals, impact assessments, and closure planning processes
Identify and mitigate environmental risks, support incident investigations, and implement corrective actions
Ensure environmental considerations are integrated into emergency response planning
Requirements to be successful in this role are:
Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, approvals, and regulatory requirements
Proven delivery of environmental monitoring programs aligned with environmental approval conditions under Part IV of EP Act and EPBC Act, audits, and accurate reporting obligations
Experience driving sustainability initiatives and continuous environmental improvement outcomes
Strong leadership capability with a track record of developing and supporting high‑performing teams
Ability to build positive stakeholder relationships and resolve issues in a timely, effective manner
Sound experience in managing environmental risks and incidents, including investigation and corrective action
Excellent planning, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
C Class WA Drivers’ Licence
Bachelor of Science – Environment (or related discipline)
Previous experience working under Part IV of EP Act and EPBC Act
Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in environmental management within mining, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in site based roles.
Experience with GIS ( ARCGIS) and MSO suite
