Help us deliver like never before
We are hiring a Senior Manager, AI Engineering Platforms to lead our enterprise AI Delivery Fabric capability within Engineering & Technology Architecture (E&TA), turning strategy and standards into scalable, self-service platforms that embed governance by default across the project delivery lifecycle. This role will drive the productisation of proven agentic engineering patterns into enterprise-grade tooling, spanning ideation, CI/CD, observability, SRE and quality engineering, enabling Australia Post to deliver technology change faster, safer and at scale.
As a critical leader in shaping engineering for the AI era, you will pioneer AI-delegated delivery practices, orchestrate tooling across Lines of Business, and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary platform team to ensure AI-enabled engineering capabilities are accessible, continuously improved and built to accelerate delivery rather than slow it down.
What you’ll deliver with us
- Lead the AI Delivery Fabric strategy and product roadmap aligned to the E&TA operating model, five strategic pillars and Post 30 priorities.
-
Productionise engineering and architecture standards into CI/CD pipelines, reusable coding patterns, tooling and automated compliance controls that accelerate delivery across Lines of Business.
-
Enable enterprise adoption of AI-delegated delivery through scalable, governed platforms and practices, with a clear path toward AI-design-led delivery in targeted domains.
-
Embed automated compliance, security and quality controls across the full delivery lifecycle, turning governance from a gate into an accelerator.
-
Track adoption metrics, Fabric usage and engineering performance insights to inform investment priorities and demonstrate enterprise value.
-
Responsible for the AI Delivery Fabric operating budget and investment prioritisation, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources across platform engineering, tooling and vendor spend.
-
Manage vendor and tooling commercial arrangements to optimise value and total cost of ownership, partnering with Procurement on third-party engagement.
About you
You are an experienced engineering leader with a proven track record of scaling enterprise platforms, CI/CD pipelines and delivery tooling in complex, security-conscious environments. You bring deep, hands-on experience across PDLC platforms (e.g. GitLab, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Miro, New Relic, Datadog, Splunk) and are confident coding in multiple languages (e.g. Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, C/C++, Rust or Golang).
You have strong expertise in AI-enabled and agentic engineering, including agent orchestration frameworks, prompt engineering, human-in-the-loop governance and automated compliance at scale. You stay up to date with the latest AI software delivery practices and capabilities across leading models such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, applying these insights to modern engineering environments. Combining deep technical knowledge with a broad understanding of AI delivery models (AI Assisted, AI Delegated and AI Design-led), you leverage practices such as IDPs, golden paths and policy-as-code to build scalable, governed and high-performing engineering ecosystems.
