Your Impact:

As a Part Time Processing Assistant, you will be;

Responsible for efficiently assisting customers with their recycling process, ensuring accurate documentation and payment, and maintaining safety protocols.
Assisting customers as they arrive, conducting safety checks, determining the payment method, sorting containers.
Documenting counts, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service.

Job Description

What you'll do:

Customer Arrival and Initial Check:

Direct incoming cars to the designated area and instruct them to stop.
Proceed to the assigned bay and signal the customer to approach and park.

Customer Safety Check:

Ensure that the customer’s engine is switched off.
Verify that no small children or pets are outside of the vehicle.
Kindly request the customer to keep children or pets inside the vehicle if necessary.
Maintain awareness of surroundings and promptly address any safety concerns.

Determining Payment Method:

Inquire whether the customer prefers cash or possesses a scheme I.D.
If the customer has a scheme I.D:
- Direct them to the bag drop zone.
- Explain the process of entering their scheme number or mobile number into the iPad to print their scheme sticker.
- Instruct the customer to place the sticker onto a trolley and return to their car to load the containers.
- Guide the customer to the designated area once loading is complete and allow them to leave.
If the customer prefers cash:
- Empty the items directly into the bay.
- Sort the containers into appropriate categories.
- Notify the customer that lids need to be removed for their next visit.
- Return any ineligible containers, rubbish, or cardboard to the customer.
- Count the eligible containers and record the count on the counting sheets.
- Ensure accurate documentation of the count, avoiding miscounts or omissions.
- Inform the customer of the total number of containers.
- Have the customer sign the counting sheet.
- Process the payment using the POS system, following the specified steps.
- Print two receipts and staple one to the docket sheet.
- Instruct the customer to retrieve their cash from the ATM using the other receipt.
- Ensure the customer receives their cash before they leave the premises.

Customer Assistance and Safety:

Assist customers throughout the process and address any concerns or questions promptly.
Ensure the safety of all individuals involved by verifying that no small children or pets are outside of the vehicle.
Proactively address any safety concerns that may arise.

Please note that the shifts would be:

Week 1: Bibra Lake - Monday 8.45am - 4.15pm, and Midvale - Saturday 8.15am - 12.45pm

Week 2: Midvale - Monday 8.45am - 4.15pm, and Bibra Lake - Saturday 8.15am - 12.45pm

Desired Skills and Experience

What You’ll Bring

Previous experience in customer service or a similar role preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document information.
Basic computer skills for operating the iPad and POS system.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing situations.
Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Consent to take part in the Audiometric testing organised by Good Sammy for the role.
