Full Job Description

Braintree Coaching is expanding our online teaching team and looking for high-achieving tutors to support Year 5–6 students preparing for NSW Selective School and OC-style competitive exams.

This is a 100% online tutoring role with weekly pre-scheduled sessions. Bookings, lesson materials and student resources are provided, so you can focus on delivering clear, engaging and effective lessons.

We are mainly looking for tutors who can confidently teach all four core areas of NSW Selective and OC preparation:

Mathematical Reasoning
Reading Comprehension
Writing
Thinking Skills

Role Details

Pay: AU$35–AU$55 per hour
Location: 100% online / work from home
Schedule: Weekly pre-scheduled sessions
Expected hours: 4–20 hours per week, depending on student enrolments, tutor availability and subject suitability
Support: Bookings, lesson materials and student resources provided

About You

You’ll be a strong fit if you:

Have strong academic results, preferably ATAR 95+ or equivalent
Graduated from a NSW Selective High School, preferably a Tier 1 selective school
Can confidently teach Mathematical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Writing and Thinking Skills
Have prior tutoring or teaching experience, preferably with Year 4–6, OC, NSW Selective, scholarship, or high-achieving students
Are based in Australia
Hold, or are willing to obtain, a valid Working With Children Check
Are warm, reliable, professional and confident working with children online

Please note: Our current priority is tutors for Year 5–6 NSW Selective and OC preparation. However, applicants with strong teaching experience may also be considered for future tutoring opportunities across other year levels and exam pathways.

Do you have prior tutoring or teaching experience? If yes, briefly describe the year levels, subjects, and type of students you have taught.
What was your ATAR or equivalent academic result? If you are currently completing Year 12 or do not have an ATAR, please explain your current academic background.
Are you comfortable teaching Year 5–6 students preparing for NSW Selective or OC-style exams? Please briefly explain your confidence level.
Are you comfortable teaching all four areas required for NSW Selective/OC preparation: Mathematical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Writing, and Thinking Skills? Please answer “Yes” only if you can teach all four confidently. If not, mention which area you are less confident in.
Are you currently based in Australia? Please mention your city and state.
Do you currently have a valid Working With Children Check? If not, are you willing to obtain one before starting? Please answer one of the following: “I have a valid WWCC”, “I am willing to obtain one”, or “No”.
Did you attend a NSW Selective High School? This is good to have, but not compulsory. If yes, please write the school name. If not, please briefly describe your academic background, including your school, ATAR/equivalent result, university course, or relevant teaching experience.
