Work arrangement: remote work (provide call support)

In this RF Engineering role, you will be part of a hard-charging, professional team tasked with designing, testing, implementing, operating, installing, troubleshooting, and continually optimizing our rapidly expanding worldwide facilities. You will get to operate and manage the RF systems for our latest Satellite Earth Stations. Communication matters and you will have the opportunity to interface with numerous internal and external workgroups while managing Break/Fix incidents from the problem determination stage through resolution implementation. In this position, you will work in an exciting Operations environment.

Come onboard and use your detective skills to identify root causes for technical issues as well as develop procedural/technical recommendations for improvement. If you are a sleuth and problem solver then it is time to join our RF Engineering Team!

The day-to-day

Create, update, and maintain gateway-related Method & Procedure (M&P) and Runbook documentation utilized by teammates
Help maintain and update as required all training material associated with gateway operations and perform training
Participate in meetings daily or when needed
Help manage spares inventory stored by a third party and advise when quantity adjustments are appropriate
Help to identify and implement any required gateway upgrades based upon feedback from Engineering Teams and Technical Operations
Generate scheduled maintenance documentation, coordinate and schedule maintenance, and project activities
Remotely work with external vendor remote hands support on all troubleshooting, resolution, and improvement activities
Provide timely incident ticket and project updates in the ticketing system, work to resolve and close ticketed incidents quickly
Assist with writing incident (RCA’s) Root Cause Analysis findings when needed
Management of facilities system equipment; UPS and backup power system configurations.
Maintain cover for facilities equipment when required

What you'll need

2+ years of relevant experience operating and troubleshooting RF gateway uplink antenna systems and earth stations
Knowledge of RF signal flow and equipment
Experience using RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, RF power meter, oscilloscope, and multi-meters and reporting of critical gateway RF infrastructure status.
Ability to work as a dedicated team member
Able to perform 24X7 on-call support on a rotating basis
Familiar with working in a Development Operations (Dev. Ops.) environment
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Ability to travel up to 25%

What will help you on the job

Working knowledge of IP encryption devices, Ka/Ku band RF equipment, tracking antennas, and communications theory a plus
Experience with Monitor and Control System software
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Some Project Management skills
Network system support and troubleshooting experience
Experience working in ticketing systems
Experience of facilities equipment (eg UPS / backup power configurations)
