About the Role
Citation Group is launching a new compliance-first HR, health & safety platform - into the Australian market. This role exists specifically to govern that programme from end to end and has been created as an 18-month contract for exactly that purpose.
As Product Project Manager, you will own the governance framework across the entire programme. That means the steering cadence, risk register, decision logs, and weekly executive reporting - and the job of ensuring no critical question sits unanswered in someone’s inbox.
The programme spans a product launch, a customer migration of approximately 2,000 clients, and cross-functional coordination across business divisions. You will be the person the COO relies on for an honest, current picture of where things stand - what is on track, what is at risk, and what needs a decision before it becomes a problem.
What will you be responsible for?
This role sits within our Operations team and reports to our Chief Operating Officer.
Your key activities in this role will be:
- Governance & reporting: Establish and run the steering cadence, status reviews, and decision logs across the programme - and deliver clear, RAG-status reporting to the exec team weekly.
- Escalation & risk management: Own the risk register and surface issues early - while there are still options on the table, not after the fact.
- Cross-functional coordination: Keep status, risks, and dependencies visible across all teams so the right people can act at the right time.
- Customer migration: Coordinate the migration of approximately 2,000 customers, with clear planning, segmentation, and risk visibility throughout.
- Launch planning: Build and maintain the project plan from initiation to post-launch, with clear milestones, owners, and decision gates.
- Process improvement: Create repeatable frameworks and templates that outlast the programme and scale with the business.
Our ideal candidate?
We’re on the hunt for an individual who is highly communicative, collaborative, a problem-solver and brings a positive attitude to the workplace every day.
- Proven track record running governance across complex, cross-functional programmes in a SaaS, technology, or product-led environment.
- A strong escalation instinct - you raise issues early, frame them clearly, and give leaders the information they need to make a call, not a polished version of the truth.
- Commercial communication skills - comfortable producing concise executive-ready updates, holding senior stakeholders accountable, and saying ‘this is off track’ while keeping relationships positive.
- A builder’s mindset - you can create structure and governance process where none currently exists, without needing a fully defined playbook before you start.
- Flexibility and resilience - comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and managing different time zones with UK colleagues.
- Tech-adjacent background - you don’t need to be a developer, but you understand how technology teams work. A background as a product manager, scrum master, or engineering programme manager is well suited.
