We are seeking a Senior Research Ethics and Governance Officer to facilitate smooth research ethics and governance operations, streamline research approvals, and support cutting-edge research projects

The opportunity
The role forms a key part of the day-to-day research ethics and governance operations of the National Research Unit.
This opportunity is perfect for research experienced individual to further develop skills in research ethics and research governance administration within a complex health care organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Research Impact & Enablement, the successful applicant will be supporting the day-to-day research ethics and governance operations of the National Research Unit.
In this role, the key responsibilities include – serve as Executive Officer to the Ramsay HREC and Low Risk Committee to ensure required membership and operations. Provide advisory service to internal and external stakeholders on human research ethics and site-specific application requirements, and pos-approval management, in accordance with relevant national legislation, guidelines and institutional policies. In addition, the role is responsible for the management of ethics and governance reports, safety events reporting and provision of high-level guidance and support for Human Research Ethics and Research Governance functions.
This role is a critical part of the National Research Unit and will be actively working with the National Research team and the Ramsay Research and Development Network to support the smooth functioning of the ethics and governance area.
Key responsibilities also include:
- Work closely with the Head of Research Impact and Enablement to maintain the day-to-day business functions of the Human Research Ethics Committee, Low Risk Committee and the Research Governance Office.

Provide advice to researchers and Ramsay Research and Development Network staff in relation to the requirements of research ethics and research governance Site-Specific Applications prior to review and post-approval management.

Liaise with external and internal stakeholders regarding ethics and governance applications in a timely manner.

Assist in the development and maintenance of relevant policies and procedures, terms of reference and any other documentation required to support research governance processes within Ramsay Health Care.

Assist with the development and implementation of online resources to support stakeholders.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and experience:
- A tertiary qualification in health, science, research management, public health administration, or health related discipline
-
Advanced knowledge of relevant codes and legislation related to human research ethics, research governance and clinical trials within Australia
-
Demonstrated experience in clinical research and/or research ethics or research governance support role
-
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and demonstrated experience in communication with health care stakeholders, including clinicians and hospital staff.

Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
-
Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and prioritise workload

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Adobe, Excel and Outlook

Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a proactive, analytical, and process- oriented mindset
Desired experience and attributes
