The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) provides a range of government programs and services focused on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services and crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system. Located in the Justice Services and Regulation (JSR) group, Tobacco Licensing Victoria has been established to deliver the Government's commitment to implement a tobacco regulation and business licensing scheme.
Following the passage of the Tobacco Amendment (Tobacco Retailer and Wholesaler Licensing Scheme) Act (Act) in November 2024, Victoria now has a tobacco business licensing scheme and regulator to strengthen tobacco regulation.
The Evidence Management and Logistics Officer will support in the field evidence collection. They will report to the Team Leader, Inspection Coordination, Logistics and Evidence Management and ensure that all activities adhere to internal procedures and legislative requirements. This will also include regular quality control audits.
The role requires the flexibility to work afternoon, evening and weekend shifts and may require overnight travel to regional Victoria.
The Opportunity

12 months fixed term, full-time position based in Melbourne.

VPS Grade 3 role: $81,496 - $98,955 per year plus superannuation.

Conduct transport and evidence related activities at the direction of the Team Leader, ensuring the handling and management of evidence is of a high quality, complies with relevant legislation and supports investigation.

Maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across all levels to ensure ongoing co-operation and information sharing to achieve TLV objectives.

Prepare technical reports, briefs, statements and other correspondence on highly complex issues providing material evidence and options for decision making within TLV.

Assist in the planning and collection of evidence, in consultation with the Team Leader, ensuring that adequate resources are in place to support operational activities.

Ensure all transport, handling and management of information and items complies with relevant legislation.
-
Contribute to the identification, management and escalation of risks.

Identify areas for continuous improvement, emerging issues and develop appropriate responses to these matters in consultation with the Team Leader.

Ensure one's own health and safety and that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.

Other duties as directed by TLV.
