About the Role
S2 Global Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking experienced and motivated Sous Chefs to join our growing labour hire workforce. Successful candidates will be placed with a range of hospitality clients, including restaurants, hotels, resorts, catering companies, aged care facilities, and commercial kitchens.
As a Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, maintaining food quality standards, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring efficient service delivery. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and can quickly adapt to different client workplaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in the daily management of kitchen operations.
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals in accordance with menu specifications.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during food preparation and service.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and workplace hygiene.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of new dishes where required.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Work effectively under pressure during busy service periods.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef de Partie, or similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently in high-volume environments.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to various kitchen settings and client requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Food Safety Certificate (preferred).
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Reliable transport and willingness to travel to client locations if required.
- Current Police Check may be required for certain placements.
