Annual Salary: from $76,372 to $81,905 per annum based on full time
Hourly Rate: $38.65 to $41.45 per hour
About the Position
The Intensive Family Services (IFS) program supports families with complex needs to improve child safety, strengthen parenting capacity, and prevent children from entering out-of-home care through tailored, culturally appropriate, and family-centred support.
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring Case Plans developed by Case Managers are supported and implemented.
- Actively contributing to the operational objectives of the Program.
- Assisting in the delivery of activities to meet Key Performance Indicators.
- Supporting the Case Manager in assisting families to increase their knowledge and skills.
- Assisting the Case Manager in providing education, training, advocacy, and practical support to carers and / or families needing ongoing support.
- Maintaining a key focus in supporting clients to lead a fulfilling and more independent life.
- Providing practical and emotional support to clients.
- Assisting with the administration and maintenance of records, data collection and reports as required by the funding body.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
o Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or Diploma in relevant Human Services qualification.
o Bachelor of Social Work highly desirable (eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers).
o Current Bachelor Social Work students who can demonstrate successful completion of third year placement encouraged to apply.
o Current Masters Social Work students with a relevant undergraduate degree, who can demonstrate completion of their first placement are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in working with and supporting families at risk.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic child development principles, childcare principles and family dynamics.
- Experience in working in a highly confidential manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative;
- Demonstrated high level of communication skills (listening, verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to function as a cooperative member of a team to achieve team objectives
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality file management, which includes collating, maintaining, and reporting on accurate data and information.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a highly confidential manner.
- Demonstrated high level of ability in using Information Technology and Microsoft Office programs.
Requirements of the role:
- Hold (or willingness to obtain) a current DHS Working With Children Check *
- Hold (or a willingness to obtain) a National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check) *
- Hold a current South Australian Driver’s License (minimum Provisional License)
