About Scope

Scope’s purpose is to create meaningful opportunities for people with disability to belong and thrive. We support people with physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities to achieve their goals. Scope is a registered provider under the NDIS and delivers a range of services including supported independent living, short term accommodation (respite), social connections, lifestyle options, therapy and employment services in over 420 service locations across Victoria and NSW.

About Your Role

Reporting to the Research Coordinator, the Client Book Club Facilitator is responsible for developing and facilitating a book club for people with intellectual disability.

This unique role is part of a research project aimed at improved the social networks of people with disability.

Your Key Focus

Coordinate the promotion and recruitment process for newly established book club
Facilitate the book club and support clients in participation
Manage the operational aspects of the book club, including coordination, scheduling, communication and resources required
Regularly liaise with and report to the Head of Research to understand and deliver the activities as required
Communicate proactively with clients, staff and community members

What We Look For

Previous experience working with people with disability
Experience with group program facilitation
Skilled in creating environments and opportunities that support the development of peer relationships and friendships
Well developed organisation, planning and time management
Experience using virtual collaboration platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
