About the role

Clerical staff in the Box Hill Emergency Department provide professional, compassionate, and customer-focused service, frequently acting as the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors. They play a critical role in ensuring that patient information is accurately collected and entered into information systems in a timely manner, supporting both clinical care and administrative processes for over 65,000 patient presentations annually.

Working across both front-of-house and back-of-department settings, clerks rotate through a diverse range of roles that support the effective functioning of the multidisciplinary team.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Excellent computer skills - experience in iPM/EMR an advantage, but not essential
Ability to provide quality customer service
A strong commitment to high quality care
The ability to work as part of a diverse team
Excellent communication and organisational skills

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
