About the Position
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position will suit a hands-on bookkeeper with strong reconciliation skills and broad transactional finance experience across a multi-site environment. You will work alongside a wider team of accountants and payroll staff, combining day-to-day bookkeeping with active involvement in month-end close.
You will be accountable for:
Reconciliations
- Daily and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple entities and accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness
- General ledger reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including investigating and resolving variances
- Reconciling intercompany balances and clearing accounts as part of the month-end close
Accounts Payable
- Assisting with the accounts payable process, including invoice coding, approvals workflow, payment runs and supplier statement reconciliations
- Assisting with supplier queries and helping maintain accurate vendor master data
- Ensuring correct GST treatment on all transactions and supporting accurate BAS preparation
- Generating Recipient Created Tax Invoices (RCTIs) in line with ATO requirements
- Overseeing the management of periodic payments for the rental portfolio
Payroll Support
- Supporting the payroll team with fortnightly and monthly pay cycles covering ~1,180 staff, including data entry, checking and reconciliation activities
- Assisting with payroll-related GL reconciliations, leave accruals and salary accruals
- Providing backup coverage for payroll processing during periods of leave
Month-End and Compliance
- Assisting with month-end close, including preparation of journals, accruals and prepayments
- Creating and maintaining fixed asset records for new asset acquisitions, including capitalisation and depreciation
- Supporting BAS, GST and other statutory reporting obligations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting internal and external audits and year-end processes
Systems and Process Support
- Acting as a key user of NetSuite and Employment Hero, including data integrity checks and system reconciliations
- Responding to internal queries promptly and professionally, and contributing to continuous improvement of finance processes and controls
About You
You bring solidbookkeeping experience in a multi-site or multi-entity environment, with demonstrated strength in bank and credit card reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, exposure to accounts payable and payroll. You take ownership of your work and pride yourself on accuracy, attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
You have strong Excel skills and are confident across the MS365 suite, with hands-on experience in NetSuite and Employment Hero. You bring a working knowledge of GST and BAS preparation, together with a solid understanding of the relationship between transactional finance, the general ledger, audit requirements and statutory reporting.
You demonstrate sound professional judgement, communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, and take a proactive, hands-on approach. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and actively contributing to the delivery of an accurate and timely month-end close.
