In this role, you'll:
The Senior Project Manager, Bus will lead and manage the development and delivery of bus infrastructure projects that deliver public transport network outcomes for NSW. You will be leading and managing bus infrastructure projects that support the transition of the zero emission bus initiatives and projects that support the improvement of bus services in NSW. Exciting challenging projects in the bus infrastructure portfolio include the development and delivery of zero emission bus depots, bus interchanges and integrated transport bus corridor projects. You will provide high-level project support to divisional senior management, ensuring the division operates effectively. You will manage a broad range of cross-functional matters impacting the group, including safety, finance, project governance, reporting, strategic planning, and organisational improvement, driving alignment and continuous performance across all areas.
You will also guide and coordinate the bus-related project planning process for the division, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and initiatives. This includes ensuring bus-specific strategies and plans are translated into meaningful performance targets, alongside providing regular reporting and assurance to senior management. In addition, you will provide advice, technical expertise, and operational support across a wide range of bus project matters, including zero-emissions initiatives, as well as business cases, finance and procurement submissions.
Key accountabilities include:
- Provide strategic and operational support by preparing complex correspondence, briefing notes, and reports, and offering advice, technical expertise, and guidance across a wide range of project and divisional matters.
- Ensure effective financial and procurement governance by maintaining robust financial management processes (planning, budgeting, reporting, and controls) and overseeing procurement activities in line with policies, providing strategic advice and assurance.
- Lead coordinated project planning and delivery by driving an integrated bus project planning process, ensuring alignment with divisional accountabilities, corporate strategies, and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Manage governance, risk, and issue resolution by applying sound judgement to prioritise competing demands, escalate critical issues appropriately, and work with HR and other specialists to resolve people-related and operational matters.
- Oversee administrative and operational functions by managing office procedures, records management, and purchasing activities, ensuring compliance with corporate policies while supporting efficient day-to-day operations.

You will develop and maintain strong strategic relationships, providing expert advice to inform decision-making, support key initiatives, and clarify accountabilities across the division. You will act as a central point of contact, responding to inquiries, managing sensitive issues, and ensuring matters are appropriately escalated and resolved.
You will be working closely with senior leaders, you will provide both strategic and tactical advice to address emerging priorities, while reporting on progress and contributing to the achievement of operational outcomes.
You will foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting trust, innovation, and continuous learning, while guiding and supporting team members in their development. In addition, you will represent team perspectives to senior stakeholders, while managing risks, resolving complex issues, and driving effective, well-informed solutions.
